Since 1948, Jamaica Red Cross has responded to the needs of Jamaicans across the island. The Jamaica Red Cross Head Quarter is located in Central Village in St. Catherine, and we also have 13 branches located in the parishes of Jamaica. Our main sectors are Emergency Response; Youth; Communications and Dissemination; and Care. We offer trainings in various fields, as well as information and direct aid when needed.

We are part of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. With more than 97 millions volunteers in 181 national societies, it is the largest humanitarian organization in the world. Our work is closely tied in with Strategy 2010, the strategy of the movement. The Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross – Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality – guide all of our work. These principles allow us to provide help immediately to whoever needs it, wherever they are, whatever their race, political beliefs, religion, social status, or culture.
